Silverlight from Microsoft is a technology for Web presentations that makes it possible to have a complete and interactive work with means on Internet; it also offers a bigger visual attractive and the capacity to be executed from different platforms and devices.

Silverlight is complemented with the Web surfer (IE, Firefox and Safari from Mac OSX) it offers several Windows Presentation Foundation functions, such as video reproduction, vectorial graphic processing and animation among means.

In other words, Microsoft tries to offer with Silverlight what Adobe offers with Flash Player, which is more developed nowadays.
